I have been running my own business for over 20 years. My current clients include The Brirtish Motorcyclist Federation (BMF), The Vintage Motorcycle Club (VMCC), Watercraft Magazine and Eve Hughes Interiors.

During my years of employment and self employment I have gained vast experience of design, publication production, scheduling and picture editing within the graphic field. I am confident and proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and WordPress. I have a passion for clean, crisp, eye catching good design.

Design & Marketing – Newell’s Travel – Travel Agent, Cornwall
I was employed four days a week as marketing co-ordinator and designer.
During the last five years I transformed the company corporate image,
designing a new logo, oversaw the new branch refit, website, e-shots,
company posters, press advertising, social media and launched their own
in-house magazine (Newell’s Travel News). I also worked on their annual events
from promotion through to dealing with the press, editorial and advertising.

2013 – 2015
In-house designer – Idenna Limited, Cornwall
Employed four days a week as an in-house designer working on brochures,
magazines, advertisements and client corporate work from design
to print production.

1998 – 2021
Louise Hillier Designs
While running my own business and looking after my individual clients, I also
had the role of Art Editor for ‘Motorcycle Sport and Leisure’ (page layout,
scheduling and production), Art Editor of Watercraft magazine (page layout
and design) Surfers Against Sewage (Design and production of quarterly
magazine, clothing catalogues and posters).

1997
Lecturer – Cornwall College
I ran a City & Guilds course in desktop publishing. Taking students to a basic
level of design and an understanding of desktop publishing.

1994 – 1996
Art Editor – Waterside Publications
In keeping with the style and readership of The Boatman magazine.
I produced the design and layout for the articles through to reproduction and
print. I oversaw the print run every month making sure a high standard was
maintained. I also produced brochures, leaflets and promotional material for
Waterside Publications design facilities.

1992-1994
In-house designer – Conran Octopus, London
I worked on a variety of disciplines, ranging from publicity material,
presentations, book jackets and covers as well as general book design.

1991
In-house designer – Just Colour Printers Limited, London
Seven months employment. I took on great responsibility seeing jobs through from quotations, presentations to art direction of photography.

10 weeks summer employment. General Graphics work including art working,
leasing with printers and clients.
